Our Gardens

My Husband, Jon loves to garden. The other day he asked me why I hadn't put the garden we're all so proud of, on our blog yet. So here is this year's garden.

We usually plant different kinds of peppers, squash and cucumbers.

We(I mean he) planted watermel-on and cantelope as well, and we ate our first watermel-on last week...mmmm it was yummy.
We are excited for the cantelopes to ripen up.

As you can see, we have a ton of tomato plants and tomatoes coming out our ears; We get pretty busy this time of year canning salsa, and whatever else you can do with tomatoes. It's a lot of work but nice to have on the shelves.

These are our raspberry plants; we are excited at how big they've got this year and expect to get a lot of raspberries next year.

And last but not least, these bushes are our currants and blackberries, we've gotten a ton of them this year and recently used them in some jam we canned.
My Husband is very proud of our fruit trees, vegetable garden and berry bushes...and I am too. So this post is for you Jon, happy gardening hon!

So my hubby loves "produce" gardening and I love my flowers. We got curbing put in this year so I was able to plant a lot of flowers around the house...yeah, it was a lot of work but well worth it.

These bright yellow flowers are number 1 on my "favorites" list this year.

Next on my list are my dahlias; they are so beautiful with their bushy green leaves, producing tons of flowers all different colors at once.

I love coming out everyday to see how my flowers are doing; it seems like I always find something new and beautiful blooming...it's a lot of fun!
If you notice, there is a huge green plant off to the right in this picture...when I was done planting my flowers my husband asked me why I planted a tomato plant there. I didn't believe it was a tomato plant until it got bigger, now it's humungous and producing a lot of tomatoes too! Oops! wont make that mistake again, at least the neighbors can enjoy it.
